Material: Authentic and high grade Golden Quan Sha Zini from Huang Long Shan.

Artist: 许志鹏 Xu Zhi Peng

Xu Zhi Peng is a disciple of The Grand Masters 王小龙 Wang Xiaolong and 高丽君 Gao Lijun, both who hold great respect for Zisha. He is as well as a fellow junior disciple of Ma Pinyi. He inherits solid traditional craftsmanship and is knowledgeable in the study of aesthetics. Under the guidance of Ma Pin Yi, he uses Zisha as a medium to express the unique and advanced aesthetics taste of One Space.

This is a one-of-a-kind piece, originally designed by Ma Pinyi and handcrafted by Xu Zhipeng under Ma Pinyi’s supervision. It is exclusively available at One Space.

The pot’s design is inspired by the Chinese gourd, symbolizing blessings and good fortune. The plump and slightly drooping body of this pot perfectly captures the charm of ripe fruits and the feeling of fruitfulness. This requires the artist to have a deep understanding and application of traditional craftsmanship.

The fundamental quality of a well-formed body is its fullness and tension. However, when an artist reaches the next level, they start paying attention to the energy and looseness. When something is too tense, it often gives us a feeling of trying too hard to impress. Looseness, on the other hand, adds a bit of freedom to the soul just like a human being.

One can gain a deeper understanding of the creator’s intangible charm and aesthetics by appreciating the form of a pot. It is only through a profound comprehension of nature that one can capture and convey its hidden beauty using Zisha as a medium.

The lid of this pot fits beautifully. To ensure a proper fit. Accomplishing this task, it requires a high level of skill and expertise, and since the pot is fully handmade, it becomes even more difficult. Not only does choosing this design complete the artistic look, but it also showcases Ma Pinyi’s involved skills.

Overall, this pot represents a balance between tradition and innovation. It is simple but not easy. Its roots are firmly planted in tradition because it draws inspiration from the past. Only with such proficiency in the use of traditional crafts, and with a profound sense of Aesthetics can he create such a work that can be passed down and become a future classic.
