The First to fire Mu Ye Jian Zhan in Dragon Kiln. Wood-fire export.
The Persimmon Red leaf Tea bowl fired in dragon kiln is extremely rare. It requires a unusually high temperature of 1300-1400 Degrees. Under the unpredictable conditions of the dragon kiln, it makes it even more challenging. The leaf and the cups are often burned. The success rate is only around 0.5% - 1%. About one Persimmon Red leaf cup is qualified for sale every month or two. It is also the piece in the cover photo of the certificate.
New rules of restrictions for Dragon Kilns will be applied soon by the government (In a couple of years) for environmental protection purposes. Therefore, a well-made Jian ware piece from Dragon Kiln has an incredibly high value of collecting and investing.
Each leaf is made with bodhi leaf from Yuan nan, and the leaf is crystallized on the surface of the glaze during firing. This is an extremely complicated technic. The success rate is even lower than the regular wood-fired pieces, making it a perfect piece for the collection.
