Material: No.4 Mine (Huang Long Shan) Ben Shan Lüni, Aged for 10+ years.
About No.4 mine: Due to the excessive mining throughout the decades and the resulting groundwater infiltration in the mid-1990s, the government officially closed Huang Long Shan’s No. 4 mine in 2005 and has since banned all future operations around it. As a result, there are now very little authentic No. 4 mine clay available in the market. All clay from No.4 mine is considered a luxury to have for many.
My Zi Jin has been everything I hoped for. Beautiful, very well made and functions beautifully. Already have another pot from Shen Ye Qin ordered.
Since I received my Zi Jin, I have been captivated by by its warm, smooth exterior, its creamy colour and by the level of care that Shen Ye Qin spent on its every detail. – But apart from being simply beautiful, it is a great instrument for brewing tea. It is well balanced, pours immaculately and its opening is comfortably wide. I absolutely love it for brewing rock oolong. The clay’s most remarkable feature is, that it makes tea taste richer and somehow milky – softening harsher flavours as well as enhancing what has been masked by them. At the same time, very little to none of the more ephemeral flavours are compromised. I have been especially surprised, by how well it transforms assertive, big leaf green teas and how it enhances Taiwanese gaba tea.
Concerning Transaction and Shipping: Ordering was smooth and easy. I bought another pot at the same time and they both arrived here quickly, in thickly padded boxes, carefully wrapped and packaged, together with handwritten certificates, a tea towel and a packet of Yixing Heicha as a surprise present. Thanks again, Yanni! :-)
