Finally having received one of these incredible handmade pots I now know what makes them so special. They are true expressions of a lost art that is still being preserved by Yanni and her team. These show the artist's touch in subtle and beautiful ways yet still having such precision to have the perfect pour, lid fit, and balance. The clay tastes phenomenal and has only gotten richer with every brew. I can't thank Yanni enough for answering all my questions and being patient with me as I finally decided on this pot as my first handmade piece. It was above and beyond of what I hoped for.
Stunning! The clay and craftsmanship of this pot is amazing. I have purchased my fair share of Zisha over the years, from various sources - struggling to find high quality handmade pots from a trusted source. No longer! Yanni has also helped to demystify a lot of information, which i am very grateful for. This will be the first pot of many and i can't see myself purchasing from anywhere else.
Mechanical details like nice lid fit, smooth pour, and good balance are not as important as high quality clay. But if I can find those details in a pot made of high quality clay I enjoy the pot all the more. Such is the case here.
Di Cao Qing is a versatile clay, and I have several pots made from it that I use for different teas. When I found that this teapot makes the perfect cup of Liu Bao I couldn't help dedicating it to that.
I love the clay of this teapot! It is great for ripe puer and lightly fermented oolong tea! The quality of the craft is excellent and it matches the price; I am happy with the purchase. If you are looking for a more detailed craft, Yanni provides a reliable source of quality product with good value because a good teapot can last you a lifetime.
Depending on the type of tea you drink and your palate profile, you may consider the other types of clays or buying a few of them. Different clays are meant for different teas. What works for you may not work for others.
